ABSTRACT

A simple method to represent three-dimensional (3-D) convex objects is proposed, in which a onedimensional signature based on the discrete Fourier transform is used to efficiently describe the shape of a convex object. It has position-, orientation-, and scale-invariant properties. Experimental results with synthesized 3-D simple convex objects are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed simple signature representation.
